FATHER'S DAY: A CELEBRATION OF FATHERHOOD

By Omobolanle Taofeek. Father's Day is a special occasion dedicated to honoring fathers and the profound influence they have on our lives. In 2026, International Father's Day falls on June 21 for the United States, the United Kingdom, India, the UAE, and many other countries that follow the tradition of celebrating on the third Sunday of June. It's a day to express gratitude for their love, guidance, and support. The most recognized founder of Father's Day is Sonora Smart Dodd from Spokane, Washington. In 1909, after hearing a sermon on Mother's Day, she was inspired to create a similar holiday to honor her own father. Her father, a Civil War veteran, had selflessly raised her and her five siblings after their mother passed away. The first Father's Day was celebrated on June 19, 1910, though it was originally intended to be held on June 5th, her father's birthday. However, the date was pushed to the third Sunday of the month to give local pastors more time t...

Without adequate water intake, the body may struggle to perform these functions effectively, leading to dehydration and other health concerns. The importance of staying hydrated has continued to attract attention from health experts and advocates. Nigerian health influencer and medical doctor Egemba Chinonso Fidelis (popularly known as Aproko Doctor) has spoken several times about the importance of drinking water. Body odour can sometimes create discomfort and self-consciousness, especially in social settings such as classrooms, workplaces, religious gatherings, and public events. For many individuals, the fear of emitting an unpleasant smell can affect their confidence and willingness to interact with others. This is where deodorants play a significant role. Deodorants are designed to reduce or mask body odour caused by bacteria that break down sweat on the skin. Their use helps individuals feel cleaner and more comfortable throughout the day, particularly in hot climates where excessive sweating is common. According to dermatologist Paul A. "AT SOME POINT, I HAD DROPPED OUT IN MY HEAD LIKE A MILLION TIMES. THEN I’D REMEMBER I STILL HAD ASSIGNMENTS DUE." - CALEB PAMILERIN SOBALOJU

By Mercy Ojegbola  Pamilerin Sobaloju is the Founder and CEO of Fluxt, a conversational fintech platform rethinking how people access and use money across different literacy levels, languages, and borders. He didn’t grow up as the “smart kid.” Often seen as the black sheep of the family, he didn’t fit into traditional expectations early on. That perspective shaped how he sees systems today — many are not broken because people can’t use them, but because they were never designed for them in the first place. Growing up in Owo, Ondo State, he experienced firsthand the challenges of financial access, often handling transactions on behalf of his family due to complex and unintuitive banking systems. That early exposure became the foundation for what he is building today. He began building businesses at 19 and went on to launch multiple startups that failed, each one shaping his approach to problem-solving and execution. Along the way, he worked across fintech and blockchain companies as...
