3RD FACULTY OF ARTS DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI LECTURE HIGHLIGHTS VALUE OF FORMAL MUSIC EDUCATION

 By Oyewoade Isaac  On the 2nd of July 2026, the Faculty of Arts held its 3rd Faculty Distinguished Alumni Lecture titled "Versatility of Formal Education in Music," delivered by Lanre Delano. The event opened with a musical presentation by the Department of Music, after which it commenced with the recognition of dignitaries like the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Simeon Bamire, and other invited guests. This was followed by the rendition of the National Anthem, and the university's anthem. Mr. Olarewaju Abiodun, who presided over the occasion, further recognized the guest lecturer, Lanre Delano, the Chairman of the Occasion, Chief Femi Agbaje, and members of the press present at the event. Right after the introduction, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professor Gbenga Fasiku, delivered his welcome address. ACJOAU HOLDS INTER-NEWS AGENCY ORATORY CONTEST

By Olaoye Oluwapelumi The third edition of the ACJOAU Inter-News Agency Oratory Contest happened on April 25th, 2026. The event which held at EDB 317 began with an opening prayer led by the Editor-in-chief for OAU Kilonsele. This was immediately followed by the rendition of the school's anthem. Thereafter, Esther Olatimehin, the President of ACJOAU, delivered an opening speech where she talked about the birth of the oratory contest and introduced the distinguished panel of judges.  The panel featured Coach Ajake, the president of the OAU debate team, and Isaiah Adepoju, the author of Happiness is a Sickle Kinikan in my Belly. Nine news agencies participated in the contest including the ICONS Organisation, ASPOB Conglomerate, InFocus News Agency, KOWEE News Agency, NAPSS OAU Press Team, NASELS Communication Bureau, Great Ife Network, OAU Kilonsele, and OAU PEEPS.
