GREAT IFE STUDENTS' UNION ELECTIONS HEAT UP AS CANDIDATES INTENSIFY CAMPAIGNS

 


The Great Ife Students' Union election is around the corner and the campaigns are gaining momentum. Candidates like Yusolat, Dr. Bush, Pendragon, and others are vying for the presidential post, while several others are contesting for various positions, including vice president, welfare director, general secretary, and director of sports and social and culture.

In the race for director of social and culture, ASAP has been actively campaigning the as he hosted a party at Fajuyi Hall, and publicising his candidacy in other halls of residence. Similarly, AY Joks has been winning over students with free As-E-Dey-Hot.

For the Hall of Residence elections, students are contesting for positions such as chairman/chairlady, general secretary, sports director, and social secretary. Meanwhile, department and faculty elections have been seeing students vying for positions like president, vice president, general secretary, librarian, and assistant librarian.

As the election date approaches, candidates are leaving no stone unturned, posting bills around campus, sharing leaflets, and utilizing social media platforms like WhatsApp to reach out to voters. The university community is abuzz with excitement and anticipation as the students prepare to exercise their democratic rights.
