The NASELS Communication Bureau, Obafemi Awolowo University (NCBOAU) held its 2025 induction ceremony on Saturday, December 6, at the University campus.
The program opened with the national and school anthems, after which the Editor-in-Chief, Olaoye Peace, delivered her welcome address. She reminded the inductees that joining the bureau is both a privilege and a responsibility, stressing the need for reliability and active participation throughout their time in the university. Speaking about her hopes for the incoming members, she said her desire is for them to approach their duties with genuine commitment and a willingness to learn, unlearn and grow.
The President of the Association of Campus Journalists, Obafemi Awolowo University, (ACJOAU) Esther Olatimehin, served as the special guest of honour. In her remarks, she highlighted integrity as the foundation of good journalism and encouraged the inductees to guard their reputation with care, noting that credibility remains a journalist’s most valuable asset.
After the speeches, the inductees took their oath of allegiance and received their certificates, marking their official entry into the bureau. The ceremony closed with final remarks from the Editor-in-Chief, followed by group photographs and informal interactions among members and guests.
The event not only welcomed a new cohort but also set a clear tone for the level of professionalism expected as they begin their work within the bureau.
