CAMPAIGN BAN LIFTED FOR GREAT IFE STUDENTS' UNION ELECTIONS

The Great Ife Students' Union Electoral Commission announced today, 11th of June, 2024, that the campaign ban for the upcoming 2022/2023 Students' Union elections has been lifted, effective immediately. The Commission made the decision after carefully considering the current circumstances and recognizing the importance of allowing candidates to present their plans to the student body.

The Commission has also set out comprehensive campaign rules that candidates must adhere to for a successful campaign process.

The announcement comes ahead of the sale of nomination forms for interested candidates, which will commence soon. The Electoral Commission has emphasized their commitment to maintaining a fair, transparent, and accountable election process. They have urged candidates to conduct their campaigns with civility, integrity, and respect for the democratic process.

The announcement has generated excitement among Great Ife students, who are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to hear from the various candidates and make informed decisions about the future of the union.

In the middle of this, the electoral commission admonished the student body to look out for details regarding campaign "activities which will be released shortly."

With the campaign ban lifted, it's now up to the candidates to begin crafting their messages and engaging with their fellow students officially. As the excitement builds and the election draws closer, the Great Ife Student body will undoubtedly be keeping a close eye on the developments and looking forward to casting their votes for the candidates they believe will best represent their interests and values.
