OAU ENGLISH DEPARTMENT TAKES A NEW LOOK

In the spirit of celebrating the yuletide season and hoping for joyous existence in New year (2024), the English department lobby was beautifully decorated amidst innovation to promote the department entrepreneurs. The new look of the department lobby has turned the lobby into a calm and inviting place to unwind after a long days of classes.

This recent development is credited to National Association of Students of English and Literary Studies (NASELS), OAU executives under the leadership of Mr Popoola Moses.

The new appearance has generated reactions from students commending the department executive for coming up with the idea of celebrating the season and in the same space promoting businesses of students.

It is worth noting too that the department is organizing hangout tagged: December Fiesta, which is coming up on December 16 at OAU Park and Garden right before students go on Christmas and New Year break by 22nd of December.

However, amidst these developments, the executive body is urged by its fellow students to look into renovating the department rest room for comfortable easing of oneself when nature calls.

NCBOAU INDUCTS NEW RECRUITS

The NASELS Communication Bureau, Obafemi Awolowo University (NCBOAU) held its 2025 induction ceremony on Saturday, December 6, at the University campus. The program opened with the national and school anthems, after which the Editor-in-Chief, Olaoye Peace, delivered her welcome address. She reminded the inductees that joining the bureau is both a privilege and a responsibility, stressing the need for reliability and active participation throughout their time in the university. Speaking about her hopes for the incoming members, she said her desire is for them to approach their duties with genuine commitment and a willingness to learn, unlearn and grow.
