FACULTY OF ADMINISTRATION DEFEATS FACULTY OF ARTS TO LIFT THE FRESHMEN CUP

It was an amazing final match as freshmen of Faculty of Administration defeated Faculty of Arts, the defending champions with two goals to one. On Tuesday, 28th of November, 2023, within the hours of 4:00pm to 6:00pm, the OAU Sport Mainbowl was full with numbers of students and football lovers, especially from the two faculties involved in the final race to lift the Freshmen Cup. The winning faculty’s team scored their opponent twice with free kicks awarded to them at the 4th and 12th minutes of the match. However, Faculty of Arts, despite having many chances to win, the Faculty of Arts lost to the Faculty of Administration, who narrowly retained the lead with one goal. This was not enough to win, and the Faculty of Administration ultimately won the freshmen cup. The event ‘Write for Right’ aimed to educate students about the power of their pens in advocating for human rights. The event was held at 10:30 am, with the host and collaborator present to kick things off. The event began with a powerful speech by the collaborator, who spoke about the importance of raising awareness and taking action to protect human rights.
