🔥 LoRdFem Soars to Victory: A New Leader Emerges in OAU's Student Union Elections!

In a surprising turn of events, LoRdFeM emerged victorious as the President of the Student Union (SU) in the highly anticipated election held yesterday, June 1, 2023, at Obafemi Awolowo University. LoRdFem’s landslide victory with 2796 votes surpassed the competition, leaving Legbeti in second place with 1121 votes and Majeed Lev in third place with 1003 votes.

The Central Executives Council (CEC) election results sent shockwaves through the student body, as several prominent candidates were defeated in a stunning fashion. Notable candidates such as Tao, Legend, Supreme, Dunamis and Faculty of Arts candidates, like Salvation, Arole were unable to secure victory in their respective positions, witnessing their hopes dashed by overwhelming support for their opponents.

The election faced potential disruption from students belonging to the Faculty of Arts, resulting in the cancellation of ballot boxes that were up to 24. Additionally, numerous thugs from different locations attempted to tamper with the election. However, despite these challenges, the victory was ultimately achieved. One individual named Timmyblack played a role in causing disruption, which may have impacted the FASA candidates.

GOD IS A POET: JOEL OYELEKE EXPLORES RELIGION THROUGH POETRY

On Sunday, 15th December 2024, Joel Oyeleke, a Part 3 student of the Department of English, launched his debut poetry collection, ‘God is a Poet’. The book launch event commenced with an opening prayer led by Isaiah Adepoju. Thereafter, the chief compere introduced some of the special guests, including Kehinde Agunbiade and Adio Favour Oladimeji, the President of NASELS, OAU Chapter. The event featured captivating performances, starting with a spoken word poetry presentation by Marcel, inspired by Hebrews 11:1. FACULTY OF ARTS STUDENT ASSOCIATION PROPOSES ELECTRONIC VOTING TO ENSURE FAIRNESS

The Faculty of Arts Students Association (FASA) held its first press conference today under the leadership of the Electoral Commission Chairman, Oluwamayowa Isaac Alabi, known as LordMayor. The conference, held at HB 3, Room 404, experienced a low turnout of attendees. The purpose of the conference was to ensure a fair, transparent, and credible FASA election, scheduled for June 24th, 2024, at AUD II from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. The electoral commission introduced a new electronic voting system, replacing the traditional paper-based voting. Electoral Chairman Alabi, along with General Secretary Abidemi, provided an orientation on the new voting process.
