NCB CHANGES MANTLE OF LEADERSHIP


The NASELS Communication Bureau of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife experienced yet, another out turn in leadership of the News agency yesterday, 28th of July, 2024, when the out going (graduating) members bid farewell to their undergraduate collegues.


The hangout event took place at the Old EDM premises on campus. Both incumbent members and the outgoing members were excited to enjoy the last moment together under a good and ideal atmosphere with a lot of fun and tips of advice from the graduates. 


Miss Ifeoluwa Olayinka, the immediate former Editor-in-Chief of the news agency appreciated each active members and the executives who had put in great efforts in making her tenure a successful and beautiful one. Afterwards, she unveiled the new set of executive body that will see to the leadership and growth of the news agency amidst other agencies on campus.


The following individuals have been saddled with different offices to serve NCB in the next 2023/2024 session starting by the month November, 2024:

11. Variety Editor: Funmilayo Temowo

12. ICT Editor: Temiloluwa Areola


The occasion was also graced with the presence of Mr Ayodele Majaro, an erstwhile Editor-in-Chief of the news agency during 2021/2022 session. He was so thrilled to spend his time together with Ncbites at the hangout and happy about the fact that the agency is still standing strong.


However, he urged the new set of leaders to continue in working on the good legacy of the past leaders in developing the agency and painting its name prestigious.


Miss Eyimofe Aremu, the newly inaugurated Editor-in-Chief while giving a speech stated and expressed how surprising her appointment as the spearheading individual is, she appreciated everyone at the event and charged all her fellow leaders to work as a team in order to achieve a great success during the tenure.

GOD IS A POET: JOEL OYELEKE EXPLORES RELIGION THROUGH POETRY

On Sunday, 15th December 2024, Joel Oyeleke, a Part 3 student of the Department of English, launched his debut poetry collection, ‘God is a Poet’. The book launch event commenced with an opening prayer led by Isaiah Adepoju. Thereafter, the chief compere introduced some of the special guests, including Kehinde Agunbiade and Adio Favour Oladimeji, the President of NASELS, OAU Chapter. The event featured captivating performances, starting with a spoken word poetry presentation by Marcel, inspired by Hebrews 11:1. This was followed by a beautiful song rendition and a guitar instrumental. Paul Abidoye, a pencil artist, showcased three of his art. He explained that his paintings were inspired by the Bible. FACULTY OF ARTS STUDENT ASSOCIATION PROPOSES ELECTRONIC VOTING TO ENSURE FAIRNESS

The Faculty of Arts Students Association (FASA) held its first press conference today under the leadership of the Electoral Commission Chairman, Oluwamayowa Isaac Alabi, known as LordMayor. The conference, held at HB 3, Room 404, experienced a low turnout of attendees. The purpose of the conference was to ensure a fair, transparent, and credible FASA election, scheduled for June 24th, 2024, at AUD II from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. The electoral commission introduced a new electronic voting system, replacing the traditional paper-based voting. Electoral Chairman Alabi, along with General Secretary Abidemi, provided an orientation on the new voting process. LordMayor explained that the change was made to maintain orderliness, transparency, and fairness during the election. Voters will still need to be accredited at the voting venue but will vote electronically, using provided email and password.
