NCB Inaugurates New Executives

It was a blissful and red-lettered day as Nasels Communication Bureau (NCB) of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife inaugurated a new set of executives appointed to look into the administration of the Bureau for the next session. This was done on the 25th of June, 2023 alongside the end of 2021/2022 session hangout held at Biological Garden by 4:00 pm.

Mr. Ayodele Majaro, a final year student of the Department of English and Literary Studies, who led the outgoing administration as the Editor-in-Chief expressed his profound gratitude to God for all the success attained in the past years he emerged the office. Although, it wasn’t easy. He further showed his appreciation to other executive members of his tenure; his fellow graduates, and other NCBites for their cooperation and diligence in running a successful tenure and placing the Bureau on a solid ground for the undergraduate members to build on.

While expressing his gratitude, he said, “It is worthy of mention to commend the efforts of the following scholars and veterans, who had served the  Nasels Communication Bureau:  Adewumi Deborah, my Deputy Editor-In-Chief; Adebisi Adeniyi, the Managing Editor; Adeyanju Victor, the Production Manager and Adeyemi Nafisat, the Asst Production Manager and others.”

After dissolving the outgoing executives, Mr Ayodele made the new executives known to the house following their inauguration into different offices. Below is the list of the new executives:

  • Editor-in-Chief – Olayinka Ifeoluwa
  • Deputy Editor-in-Chief – Mercy Ojegbola
  • Managing Editor – Adenike Yusuf
  • Assistant Managing Editor – Aremu Eyimofe
  • Production Manager/ICT Editor – Akinbami Adetomiwa
  • Asst Production Manager – Moyinoluwa Oguntola
  • Senior Editor – Deborah Adewumi
  • News Editor – Abigael Akinola
  • Variety Editor – Agaba Moses
  • Senior Proof Reader – Barakat Oyewole
  • Asst Proof Reader/Assistant Production Manager 2 – Matthew Oladunjoye
  • Assistant News Editor 1- Olaoye Peace
  • Variety Editor 2 – Comfort Oladapo

On concluding his speech, he urged and challenged the newly inaugurated executives to work together diligently and effectively to move the Bureau from its current good state to better.

After Mr Ayodele’s speech, the new Editor-in-Chief, Miss Ifeoluwa Olayinka, with excitement, gave kudos to all the finalists and the outgoing executives for their great contributions to the development of journalism on campus. She also congratulated his fellow executives and wished for a successful administration.

DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH HOLDS COLLOQUIUM FOR ITS FRESH STUDENTS

Still in the spirit of felicitation, as the matriculation ceremony took place on the 11th of January 2024, the Department of English held a colloquium for its fresh students on the 12th of January 2024 at AUD II. The anchor, Dr Olusegun Joseph commenced officially by 10:38 am. He recognised the presence of notable members of staff and ushered a number of them to the high table including Prof E.T.O Babalola, the current HOD of the Department of English Prof Akande, Prof Rotimi Taiwo, Dr Faleye, Dr Bamigbade, Dr Adejumo, Dr (Mrs) Hunsu, Dr Ogundipe, Dr Ademilokun, Acting Chief Security Officer of the university, Mr Adegboyega and some other members of staff of the department.
