Paul Causes Pandemonium: Chaos Unleashed at HSLT

In a shocking turn of events, chaos unfolded at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) during the wake of the Student Union (SU) election. The incident occurred at the Health Sciences Lecture Theatres (HSLT), leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

At approximately 2:10 am, eyewitnesses reported the arrival of a student named Paul at the College of Health Sciences. Paul’s actions were nothing short of disruptive and destructive. He commenced his rampage by kicking down a notice board along the path, shattering the glass in the process.

Unfazed by his initial act, Paul proceeded to HSLT A, where several students were engrossed in overnight study sessions. Displaying a bloodstain as evidence of a previous injury, he ordered the students to evacuate the lecture hall immediately. Gripped by fear, the students hastily fled, leaving behind their valuable possessions such as phones, laptops, and power banks.

The intensity of the situation quickly overwhelmed the on-site security personnel, rendering them unable to restrain Paul. Despite their efforts, they were incapable of bringing the situation under control.

Approximately half an hour later, a woman, believed to be Paul’s mother, and a young man, thought to be his brother, arrived at the scene at around 2:40 am. They swiftly intervened, escorting Paul away from the chaotic environment.

During his departure, Paul made a series of alarming statements, claiming that the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the university had attempted to harm him. He boasted about overpowering the CSO, leaving him in a coma-like state. Paul’s menacing remarks extended to the security personnel, asserting his dominance over them and suggesting that he could harm them at will.

The exact details surrounding the events leading up to the incident remain unclear, with reports suggesting that it originated from the Student Union Building (SUB) where Paul sustained his initial injury. At present, the state of Paul’s mental well-being is unknown.

The shocking incident has left the university community deeply unsettled, prompting concerns about campus security and the welfare of its students. Authorities at Obafemi Awolowo University are expected to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter, seeking to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this alarming episode.

"I WOULD HATE TO MAKE PROMISES BECAUSE THEN I WOULD BE CHALLENGED TO PERFORM ABOVE THEM." - FRANCIS OHACHO, PRESIDENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH, OAU.

By Mercy Ojegbola  NCB: Can we meet you? Francis: I am Francis Fortunatus Ohacho, popularly known as Sael. A part four student in the Department of English, Obafemi Awolowo University, I am the incumbent president of the department's students body. NCB: What motivated you to run for the position of President? Francis: I would like to use cliché pumped up phrases like I'm led by my passion for service and all.  People often say they knew I was going for presidency from part one due to my proactiveness, but really I didn't have the Presidency in mind till late second semester of part two.  And that's because I have only wanted to support from the sides, being a significant catalyst for development wherever I am. So I've had roles like Vice President and Fin Sec in mind, but not president. I didn't think I had it. My motivation, in summary, would be the realisation of how efficient I can be to an administration. And I don't doubt it, that with the help of the t...
