Mr. Oladimeji Mujeeb involves in Controversial Currency Exchange Scam: A Blogger's Misfortune Unveiled

A literary blogger, Mr. Ridwan Adedeji fell victim to a scam on May 25th, 2023.

Mr. Ridwan Adedeji intended to convert the money he earned from his website, which came from Google Adsense, into Nigerian Naira by transferring it to a domiciliary account. However, driven by desperation and the need to settle some debts, he approached a secondary school mate, Oladimeji Mujeeb, who is involved in currency exchange and resides in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Initially, they agreed upon a black market exchange rate of approximately 700 Naira per dollar. However, when the money was withdrawn from Mr. Ridwan’s account, they decided to opt for the official exchange rate, which ranged between 400 and 500 Naira per dollar at 6 PM that evening.

Despite the difference and the resulting shortfall, Mr. Ridwan Adedeji proceeded with the transaction and accepted the official exchange rate. Subsequently, Mr. Oladimeji Mujeeb proposed a mysterious plan to divide the money into two portions without providing any reasonable explanation. This proposal was not agreed upon by Mr. Ridwan Adedeji.

In the end, Mr. Oladimeji Mujeeb sent twenty-four thousand Naira to Mr. Ridwan, indicating that he converted one hundred and seven dollars into twenty-four thousand Naira.

However, as of the time of reporting this news, Mr. Oladimeji Mujeeb continues to deny any responsibility, insisting that it is not his fault.

"I WOULD HATE TO MAKE PROMISES BECAUSE THEN I WOULD BE CHALLENGED TO PERFORM ABOVE THEM." - FRANCIS OHACHO, PRESIDENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH, OAU.

By Mercy Ojegbola  NCB: Can we meet you? Francis: I am Francis Fortunatus Ohacho, popularly known as Sael. A part four student in the Department of English, Obafemi Awolowo University, I am the incumbent president of the department's students body. NCB: What motivated you to run for the position of President? Francis: I would like to use cliché pumped up phrases like I'm led by my passion for service and all.  People often say they knew I was going for presidency from part one due to my proactiveness, but really I didn't have the Presidency in mind till late second semester of part two.  And that's because I have only wanted to support from the sides, being a significant catalyst for development wherever I am. So I've had roles like Vice President and Fin Sec in mind, but not president. I didn't think I had it. My motivation, in summary, would be the realisation of how efficient I can be to an administration. And I don't doubt it, that with the help of the t...
